Se não quiser adoecer - "Fale de seus sentimentos"
Emoções e sentimentos que são escondidos, reprimidos, acabam em doenças
como: gastrite, úlcera, dores lombares, dor na coluna. Com o tempo a
repressão dos sentimentos degenera até em câncer. Então, vamos desabafar,
confidenciar, partilhar nossa intimidade, nossos segredos, nossos pecados.
O diálogo, a fala, a palavra, é um poderoso remédio e excelente terapia.

Se não quiser adoecer - "Tome decisão"
A pessoa indecisa permanece na dúvida, na ansiedade, na angústia. A
indecisão acumula problemas, preocupações, agressões. A história humana é
feita de decisões. Para decidir é preciso saber renunciar, saber perder
vantagem e valores para ganhar outros. As pessoas indecisas são vítimas de
doenças nervosas, gástricas e problemas de pele.

Se não quiser adoecer - "Busque soluções"
Pessoas negativas não enxergam soluções e aumentam os problemas. Preferem
a lamentação, a murmuração, o pessimismo. Melhor é acender o fósforo que
lamentar a escuridão. Pequena é a abelha, mas produz o que de mais doce
existe. Somos o que pensamos. O pensamento negativo gera energia negativa
que se transforma em doença.

Se não quiser adoecer - "Não viva de aparências"
Quem esconde a realidade finge, faz pose, quer sempre dar a impressão que
está bem, quer mostrar-se perfeito, bonzinho etc. está acumulando
toneladas de peso ... uma estátua de bronze, mas com pés de barro.
Nada pior para a saúde que viver de aparências e fachadas. São pessoas com
muito verniz e pouca raiz. Seu destino é a farmácia, o hospital, a dor.

Se não quiser adoecer - "Aceite-se"
A rejeição de si próprio, a ausência de auto-estima, faz com que sejamos
algozes de nós mesmos. Ser eu mesmo é o núcleo de uma vida saudável. Os
que não se aceitam são invejosos, ciumentos, imitadores, competitivos,
destruidores. Aceitar-se, aceitar ser aceito, aceitar as críticas, é
sabedoria, bom senso e terapia.

Se não quiser adoecer - "Confie"
Quem não confia, não se comunica, não se abre, não se relaciona, não cria
liames profundos, não sabe fazer amizades verdadeiras. Sem confiança, não
há relacionamento. A desconfiança é falta de fé em si, nos outros e em
Deus.

Se não quiser adoecer - "Não viva sempre triste"
O bom humor, a risada, o lazer, a alegria, recuperam a saúde e trazem vida
longa. A pessoa alegre tem o dom de alegrar o ambiente em que vive. "O bom
humor nos salva das mãos do doutor". Alegria é saúde e terapia.

O INSTITUTO LABAN/BARTENIEFF DE ESTUDOS DO MOVIMENTO – LIMS® (Nova Iorque) instituição pioneira no estudo , desenvolvimento, e aplicação dos conceitos inovadores de movimento de Rudolf Laban e Irmgard Bartenieff , e o LABAN (Londres), conservatório de dança contemporânea e Universidade de Artes Cênicas, com dinâmicas faculdades de Dança - Educação e Dança - Comunidade, assim como de Ciência da Dança, Cenografia e Departamento de Música, idealizaram uma série de eventos para celebrar, em 2008, o desenvolvimento do trabalho e a influência mundial de Rudolf Laban, nos 50 anos após seu falecimento.

Celebrando simultaneamente o legado de LABAN e BARTENIEFF, e, também seu 30 o ANIVERSÁRIO, o Instituto Laban/Bartenieff - LIMS (Nova Iorque) irá apresentar durante o ano de 2008 uma série de eventos internacionais - LABAN EM TODOS OS CAMPOS DA VIDA, que irão celebrar as Artes Cênicas e apontar novas e excitantes aplicações do Sistema Laban (aqui entendido como estudos que conjugam Laban& Bartenieff) no século XXI.
As celebrações do LIMS, irão acontecer no Rio de Janeiro/BR (Abril de 2008), em Dartington/Inglaterra (Julho de 2008), e culminarão em Nova Iorque/USA (Novembro de 2008).


As festividades da Inglaterra enfocarão o tema LABAN ANTES E AGORA, e foram idealizadas por Valerie Preston-Dunlop, personalidade reconhecida internacionalmente por divulgar o trabalho de Laban em seus livros e palestras. As celebrações inglesas são o resultado da colaboração entre LABAN, the Laban Art of Movement Guild e o Laban/ Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies, conjuntamente com Lynn Jordan do Zion Arts Centre Manchester e Lara Lloyd, do Dartingtonplus, em Dartington Hall, assim como os arquivistas Jane Fowler no LABAN e Angie em Dartington. A programação da Inglaterra acontecerá em Manchester (Junho de 2008), onde Lisa Ullmann e Rudolf Laban abriram o Art of Movement Studio (agora LABAN); em Dartington Hall (Julho de 2008), onde Laban chegou como refugiado em 1938, e viveu seus últimos 20 anos de extraordinária produtividade, e em Londres (Outubro de 2008), no LABAN.

LABAN: ARTES CÊNICAS E NOVOS TERRITÓRIOS – RJ/ BRASIL - 22 A 27 DE ABRIL, 2008


A Celebração Laban começará no Rio, em associação com o Centro LABAN – RJ e o Centro Coreográfico da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro , comemorando a influência e a importância das idéias de Laban & Bartenieff no desenvolvimento da dança contemporânea e da dança-educação no Brasil, e investigando a relevância e os novos territórios de aplicação de suas idéias no século 21.

O evento internacional irá contar com performances, workshops, palestras, comunicações, lançamentos de livros , exibições, residências de dança e profissionais nacionais e internacionais apresentando novos e empolgantes territórios de aplicação do Sistema Laban/Bartenieff, para além das Artes Cênicas.

LABAN: ARTES CÊNICAS E NOVOS TERRITÓRIOS, tem como Instituição Associada a Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ, e conta com a colaboração da Faculdade Angel Vianna, Universidade de Campinas, UNI-RIO, Universidade Federal da Bahia e Caleidos Arte e Ensino, até o presente momento.



SIMPÓSIO SOBRE MOVIMENTO E ECOLOGIA LIMS/SCHUMACHER - SCHUMACHER COLLEGE, DARTINGTON, REINO UNIDO. 4 A 6 DE JULHO ,2008


Este encontro irá explorar o potencial do trabalho de Laban em conjunção com questões da eco-psicologia e sustentabilidade, através de diálogos de atividades de movimento. O evento incluirá discussões sobre caminhos pelos quais o movimento pode estabelecer e preservar o senso de lugar, e através de "Movimento Coral" e outras experiências, potencializar práticas sustentáveis e incorpadas, e nos ajudar a balancear tecnologia e espírito.

O evento, acontecerá no Schumacher College, em Dartington – Inglaterra, irá preceder as Celebrações de Residência em Dartington .



LABAN EM TODOS OS CAMPOS DA VIDA - NEW YORK, USA - 14 A 16 DE NOVEMBRO, 2008

As celebrações do LIMS irão culminar na cidade de Nova Iorque. Preservando e celebrando a influência global do trabalho de Laban & Bartenieff na área de Artes Performáticas e para além delas.

O evento irá comemorar o 30º ANIVERSÁRIO do LIMS, homenageando a fundadora do Laban/Bartenieff com o lançamento do DVD "I.BARTENIEFF: The Integrated Body".

* Palestras e Workshops irão mostrar novas tendências para as aplicações de LMA/BF.

* Artistas internacionais inspirados pelos conceitos Laban and Bartenieff irão se apresentar em MOSAIC, o evento anual de artes cênicas do LIMS.

*Também na programação, o LIMS irá conferir o LIMS AWARD, em reconhecimento aos serviços prestados à Instituição por membros de destaque da comunidade Laban, e também homenageará profissionais Laban por sua atuação nas Artes, Pesquisas do Movimento, e Dança/Educação, entre outras categorias.



CELEBRAÇÃO INTERNACIONAL LABAN - INGLATERRA



23 A 27 DEJUNHO, 2008
A celebração em Manchester, onde o Art of Movement Studio (agora LABAN) começou, irá se concentrar no desenvolvimento de alguns pontos estabelecidos por Laban: Dança Criativa no sistema educacional; desenvolvimento da dança moderna como arte cênica na Inglaterra; análise do movimento no trabalho; comportamento e as artes do movimento. Transitions Dance Company e escolas atuais de Manchester, irão se apresentar. O evento irá contar com exibições dos mais de 60 anos dos encontros semanais da Manchester Dance Circle, danças e performances para escolas sob a supervisão de Sylvia Bodmer e de seu devotado co-diretor Enid Platt.

A dança amadora será celebrada com uma semana de workshops criativos, para todos, com Sue Moulson, reconhecida na área por seu maravilhoso trabalho experimetal e seus conhecimentos nos fundamentos Laban.

Este evento é uma colaboração entre LABAN, Zion Arts Centre, localizado logo na rua abaixo de onde Lisa Ullmann e Rudolf Laban abriram o The Art of Movement Studio, e o Manchester City Schools Dance Council.




CELEBRAÇÃO – RESIDÊNCIAS DE DANÇA - 6 A 10 DE JULHO



A Celebração – Residências de Dança, irá acontecer em Dartington, onde Laban chegou como refugiado em 1938, e recebeu asilo de Dorothy e Leonard Elmhirst .

O evento se concentra na paixão que Laban e Elmhirst compartilharam , a saber arte para todos , neste caso dança criativa para todos corêutica, organicidade, geometria sagrada e o começo do trabalho de Laban na indústria em colaboração com Fred Lawrence, e desenvolvimento da categoria de Esforço (EFFORT).

Iniciando cada dia, a artista da dança Regina Miranda, CEO do Laban/Bartenieff Institute (NYC), dará aulas de dança diárias baseadas nos fundamentos de Laban e Bartenieff. Os coreógrafos Rosemary Lee e Michael Platt irão desenvolver uma peça experimental e compartilhá-la com os presentes. Anna Carlisle, presidente do Laban Guild, irá focar em seus workshops na organicidade da corêutica no corpo, e os dias de trabalho irão culminar com uma sessão contemplativa de corêutica para todos, guiada por Valerie Preston-Dunlop e Anna Carlisle.

As Residências serão uma oportunidade única para se criar e dançar juntos, guiados por pessoas profundamente versadas nas idéias de Laban e, assim, encaminha-las para o futuro.



LABAN - CONFERÊNCIA INTERNACIONAL - 24 A 26 DE OUTUBRO, 2008



A Conferência Internacional terá como tema o tópico "Como as idéias de Laban são relevantes hoje? ". O trabalho de Laban se espalhou mundialmente, inspirou e é aplicado em todo tipo de instituição e por vários tipos de pessoas, de terapeutas a coreógrafos, de professores a pesquisadores, de atores a cientistas do comportamento, de líderes comunitários a documentaristas, e muitos mais.

Este evento, dará a todos nós que trabalhamos profissionalmente com as idéias Laban, qualquer que seja o ramo, uma chance para dialogar, debater, apresentar performances e nos questionarmos através da prática e da palavra.

THE LABAN/BARTENIEFF INSTITUTE OF MOVEMENT STUDIES – LIMS® (New York City), a leading institution for the study, development and application of Rudolf Laban and Irmgard Bartenieff's groundbreaking movement concepts, and LABAN (London), a conservatoire of contemporary dance excellence and a college of higher education with dynamic Education, Community and Graduate Schools, as well as Dance Science, Scenography, and Music Departments, envisioned a series of events to celebrate in 2008 the development of the work and influence of Rudolf Laban in the 50 years since his death.




Celebrating both Laban & Bartenieff's work and its 30th ANNIVERSARY, the Laban/Bartenieff Institute - LIMS (New York City) will present a yearlong, international series of events - LABAN IN ALL WALKS OF LIFE, which will celebrate the arts and highlight new and exciting applications of Laban & Bartenieff's work in the 21 st century. LIMS' festivities will happen in Rio de Janeiro/BR (April 2008), in Dartington/UK (July 2008), culminating in New York/US (November 2008).




The UK Celebrations , focusing on LABAN THEN AND NOW , were envisioned by Valerie Preston-Dunlop, well known for championing of Laban's work in her books and as an internationally known lecturer and practitioner. They are the result of collaborations between LABAN, the Laban Art of Movement Guild and the Laban/ Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies, together with Lynn Jordan at the Zion Arts Centre Manchester and Lara Lloyd of Dartingtonplus, at Dartington Hall, and the archivists Jane Fowler at LABAN and Angie at Dartington. The UK programs will happen in Manchester (June 2008), where Lisa Ullmann and Rudolf Laban opened The Art of Movement Studio (now LABAN); at Dartington Hall (July 2008), where Laban arrived as a refugee in 1938, and began the last 20 years of his extraordinary output, and in London (October, 2008), at LABAN.

LIMS® 30 th ANNIVERSARY/2008 GLOBAL LABAN CELEBRATION




APRIL 22 ND – 27TH , 2008 - RIO DE JANEIRO/BRAZIL LABAN: ARTS AND NEW TERRITORIES

The Laban Celebration will begin in Rio, in association with Centro LABAN – RJ and the Choreographic Center of the City of Rio de Janeiro, commemorating the spread and importance of Laban & Bartenieff's ideas in the development of Brazil's contemporary dance and dance education, and investigating the relevance and the new territories of applications of their ideas in the 21 st Century.

The international event will feature performances, workshops, lectures, book signings, exhibition, a dance residency, and international guest artists presenting exciting new territories of application of Laban's work, beyond the Performing Arts.

LABAN: ARTS AND NEW TERRITORIES will be the collaboration of the Federal University of Rio - UFRJ, the Angel Vianna College, the University of Campinas, the UNI-RIO, the Federal University of Bahia - UFBA, and the Caleidos Arte e Ensino.




JULY 4 - 6, 2008 – SCHUMACHER COLLEGE, DARTINGTON, UK LIMS/SCHUMACHER 2008 SYMPOSIUM ON MOVEMENT AND ECOLOGY.

This gathering will explore the potential of Laban's work in conjunction with issues of eco-psychology and sustainability, through conversation and movement. The event will include discussions of the ways in which movement can establish and preserve a sense of place, empower sustainable practices, and help us to balance technology and spirit, and embodied practices through Movement Choir and other experiences. The event will be located at Schumacher College, at Dartington – UK, and will immediately precede the Residential Celebrations at Dartington.




NOVEMBER 14 th – 16th , 2008 - NEW YORK, US - LABAN IN ALL WALKS OF LIFE

LIMS celebrations will culminate in New York City. Preserving and celebrating the global spread of Laban & Bartenieff's work in the Performing Arts and beyond, the event will commemorate LIMS' 30th ANNIVERSARY honoring the founder of the Laban/Bartenieff Institute with the launching of a new DVD "BARTENIEFF Fundamentalssm : The integrated body" (working title) . Lectures and workshops will feature new trends for LMA/BF applications, and international artists inspired by Laban and Bartenieff's concepts will perform in the LIMS' annual event, MOSAIC. Also on the program, LIMS will recognize distinguished members of the Laban community for their services to the organization with the LIMS AWARD, and will honor Laban professionals in the arts, movement research, and education.



UK 2008 GLOBAL LABAN CELEBRATION




JUNE 23 rd -27th , 2008

A celebration in Manchester, where the Art of Movement Studio (now LABAN) began, will concentrate on the development of the concerns that were set up then by Laban: creative dance in the school system, the development of modern dance as a theatre art in Britain, movement analysis in work, behavior, and the movement arts. Transitions Dance Company and today's Manchester schools will perform. The event will feature an exhibition of more that 60 years of the Manchester Dance Circle meeting every week, dancing and performing to schools under the guidance of Sylvia Bodmer and her devoted co-director Enid Platt. Amateur dance will be celebrated by a week of creative workshops for all with Sue Moulson, well known in the area for her stunning experiential work and her knowledge of Laban ideas. The event is a collaboration between LABAN, the Zion Arts Centre, just down the road from where Lisa Ullmann and Rudolf Laban opened The Art of Movement Studio, and the Manchester City Schools Dance Council.




July 6 - Friday 10 th – DANCE RESIDENCIAL CELEBRATION

The Residential Celebration will happen at Dartington, where Laban as a refugee arrived in 1938, and was given safe haven by Dorothy and Leonard Elmhirst. The event concentrates on the passion Laban and the Elmhirsts shared, namely the arts for all, and in this case creative dance for all, choreutics, organicism and sacred geometry, and the beginnings of Laban's industrial work in collaboration with Fred Lawrence, and development of Effort. Beginning each day, dance artist Regina Miranda, CEO of the Laban/Bartenieff Institute (NYC), will teach a Laban/Bartenieff based Dance Class; Choreographers Rosemary Lee and Michael Platt will work an experiential piece and share it; Anna Carlisle, President of the Laban Guild, will focus in her workshops in the organicism of choreutics in the body; and the working days will culminate with a contemplative choreutic session for all led by Valerie Preston-Dunlop and Anna Carlisle. This will be an opportunity to create and dance together led by people well versed in Laban's ideas and taking them into the future.




October 24 -26, 2008 : LABAN will host an INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

The International Conference will address the topic of "How are Laban's Ideas Relevant Today?". Laban's work has spread worldwide and has inspired and is applied in all manner of institutions and by all manner of individuals from therapists to choreographers, teachers to researchers, actors to behavior scientists, community leaders to documenters, and more. This event will give all of us working with Laban's ideas professionally in whatever field a chance to dialogue, present, debate, perform and address the question through practice and word.
